I've completed the model for the PARM 16 (Portable Armature Rifle Model 16) and it's looking good; just over 1200 polys which isn't too bad. I'll be reducing them for both the view and world models; for the view model I'll delete the unseen polys and for the world model just reduce them a bit, since detail isn't as important.


The one BIG problem, however, is that I really have no idea where to go from here. I'm trying to map a texture onto the model but I don't really know where to start; getting the layout of the mesh and editing the texture to fit with it, or vice-versa. If there's anyone out there who knows how to use XSI 6 and could help/teach me please get in touch. The VDC article's only so helpful...
